Virtual Detroit
This is the home page for a virtual reality simulation of Detroit
Michigan USA. We hope to make this useful to all those who are involved
in the renovation, re-invention, re-creation of the city.
Virtual reality (VR) simulation is not the same thing as 3d modeling
or even 3d video.
| VR is interactive -
the user/avatar contols their own movement and actively
manipulates the 3d environment |
| VR is social - the
user/avatar communicates and engages in activities with other
user/avatars in real time |
| VR is immersive -
instead of watching a presentation the user/avatar is engaged
in creating the presentation themselves |
